On May 15, 2014 Councillor Barry Williamson announced that he has stepped down from the Town of Turner Valley Council and therefore relinquished his role as Chair of the Calgary Regional Partnership (CRP).
Barry accepted a full-time position as the Chief Administrative Officer with the Town of Turner Valley.

From everyone at the CRP, we would like to thank Barry Williamson for his dedication, hard work and many long hours making the Calgary Region a better place.
In his brief time as the Chair, there were several CRP accomplishments that Barry led:
- Launched the CRP’s governance model
- Established the new CRP Board of Directors and laying the foundation for next four years at CRP
- Guided the approval of the Calgary Metropolitan Plan amendments
His tireless work for the residents in his community and the Region will be missed.
Mayor Patricia Matthews, Vice Chair of the CRP, is the now the Acting Chair of the Partnership.
The CRP Board of Directors will be electing a a new executive member in the fall.
